On Wednesday last week I collected the phone I’ll be borrowing for the trip. It’s a nice Nokia that’ll allow me to run my laptop’s Internet off it’s connection, which my current ‘cave-man phone’ doesn’t have.
I put my SIM card in and did some exploring, getting to know my way around. One of the first things I discovered was an old note left on the phone saying ‘Love you!!!!!!!’. Didn’t think much of it. I spent the rest of the day playing with the Bluetooth (never used it before – really). Late on Wednesday evening I received an SMS from an old acquaintance. Her message read: ‘Thank you :)’ and her number happens to be at the top of my contacts list.
Can you see where this is going?…
Finding myself very confused, I immediately checked my sent mail folder. It turned out that sometime during the day, a specific combination of buttons had been accidentally pressed when the phone was in my bag to have the earlier discovered ‘Love you!!!!!!!’ note sent as an SMS to this girl a total of SIX times. Awkward situation – Extremely.
I can’t remember exactly what I said in my seventh SMS to her, but she seemed to have understood the situation.
